Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Lingo collects no data about you. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no third-party SDK. The app sends nothing to any server of ours, because we do not run one.

What stays on your device

Everything your use of the app creates is stored on your device alone:

Speech recognition

The app measures your pace, your pauses and your filler words by turning your speech into text. This happens on your device only, through iOS speech recognition, with no network connection and with no audio sent to Apple or to us. The app asks for microphone and speech recognition permission before first use, and you may decline both: every other lesson still works in full.

iCloud sync

If you turn sync on, your progress is stored in your own iCloud account so it reaches your other devices. That is storage in your Apple account, which we cannot reach and cannot read. Voice recordings are not synced. You can turn sync off in the app's settings or in your device's iCloud settings.

Subscription

The subscription is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card number, your payment details or your name — Apple tells us only that a subscription is active. To review or cancel it: your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

The voice pack download

The lesson audio downloads from Apple's On-Demand Resources on first launch. That is the only network request the app makes, it is with Apple rather than with us, and it carries no data about you.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from any user, whatever their age.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. And because the app collects no data, there is no past data that any change could affect.
